Shipments are made from Monday to Wednesday and delivery takes 24/48h.
The prized black hooked truffle has a surface covered with warts, very similar to those of the scorzone, but less pronounced, with a dark color reminiscent of dark chocolate. The gleba (the internal pulp) has a hazelnut / light brown color, crossed by thick whitish veins.
The smell of the fresh hooked black truffle is more decisive than the black summer truffle, but still very delicate compared to other varieties of black truffle, with that characteristic "gas" note less intense and considered more pleasant by those who usually do not particularly like the flavor of the tuber. On the palate it has characteristic fungal notes, parmesan and hazelnut, ideal for sauces and dressings.
The black hooked truffle can reach considerable size, but most of the specimens have a size ranging from about that of a hazelnut to that of an orange.
The shipment of fresh truffles takes place within 24-48 hours after receiving the order. This is to ensure that freshly harvested fresh product is always shipped. Delivery times, however, vary depending on the destination but usually takes place within 24-72h from shipment.
To guarantee the maximum freshness of the product, the truffles will be shipped only from Monday to Wednesday, in agreement with the truffle hunter.
The truffle is sent directly from the truffle hunters to us, it is collected in the respect of the national regulations and the dispositions of the single regions, protecting the delicate nature of the truffle.
The shipment is entrusted to professional couriers (UPS or DHL) able to provide a fast shipping service, to ensure the integrity of easily perishable food products.
The truffle seller who is in charge of shipping the goods, will take care of making a suitable packaging: the truffle is wrapped in absorbent kitchen paper, and put in special polystyrene containers containing also synthetic ice. This is to guarantee the freshness of the product even after 72 hours of travel.
The recommended dose of truffle is about 8-10 g per person (for each dish).
Although it is a matter of taste, in general, 10 g of white truffle are considered a generous portion and sufficient even for the most demanding enthusiasts.
The price also varies according to the size (refers to the size of individual pieces of truffle).
The pieces, in general, are divided in 3 main bands: 0-19g, 20-49g, over 50g.
The smaller size 0-19g, represented the lowest cost but this does not affect the quality, taste and aroma of the individual truffle that for each type of size is always the same.
